AMD Announces Its 16-Core Monster, AMD Ryzen 3950x

Earlier today AMD Announced its 16-core Ryzen 3950x along with its Athlon 3000G.

The Ryzen 3950x will have 16 cores and 32 threads with a clock of 3.5GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.7GHz. The 3950x sports 2 chiplets connected by AMD’s infinity fabric with both chiplets having all of its cores active. AMD’s newest family member will also have 72MB of total cache to work with and 44 Gen4 PCIe lanes(36 usable).

AMD’s newest offering will not come with a cooler this time around, instead you will need to pick up something beefy to keep this 16-core monster cool. I guess AMD figures if your buying this high end part you will be willing to invest in a hefty aftermarket cooler to keep it tamed.

The 3950x has an MSRP of $749.99 USD and will be available starting November 25, 2019.
